Before you went outside, you reclaimed your daggers and placed them back in their sheaths. Arriving back outside, you noticed that Fade had once again returned to a height taller than your own. However, you soon realized that she was still the same height. She was just hovering in the air with her cloak floating around her. Seeing you, she pulled the hood over her head and signaled you to follow. You clutched at your own cloak, since your jacket was ruined and it was quite cold outside. Though, the rain had stopped and light had returned to the forest.

As the two of you were traveling through the forest, you suddenly felt something grabbing at your backpack. Looking behind you, you saw Fade reaching in before pulling out an orange. She zipped your backpack up and returned to floating at your side.

"Shouldn't we wait till we get out of the forest".

"Why? If you're worried about the creatures of this forest hearing us, then you have nothing to fear. As long as you stay with me, none of them will harm you".

"Is that how you were able to save me before when all those bug-like creatures were chasing me?".

"Precisely, I happen to rule over this domain. Thus the creatures here cannot harm me or anyone that I travel with. Do you want some orange?".

"I see, and no you enjoy the fruit. I have another in my backpack".

"Alright, thanks. It has been awhile since I last tasted an orange" she stated peeling the orange, as she floated along through the forest.

With that the two of you continued to press on through the forest. The path behind you now littered with pieces of orange peel. Soon you could tell that it was near sundown and relying on natural light would not be an option. Thus you reached into your backpack after opening it and retrieved your flashlight. Just about to flick the device on, Fade's left hand stopped you.

"Stop, I have a better way. Besides you'll want to save that for later".

Confused, you put the flashlight away and waited to see what she meant. Fade put the last piece of orange in her mouth before holding her hand out. Instantly the forest floor began to vibrate lightly. This did not last long. After the vibrating stopped, tiny little mushrooms burst from the ground. Orange, yellow, pink, purple, and dark blue mushrooms glowed on the forest floor. Illuminating the surrounding area, you could see the figures of many creatures in the forest. It was amazing how you never had seen them before. This also reminded you of how lucky you were to be traveling with Fade.

Tiny little creatures with bright neon green eyes and thin haired bodies followed your every move, as if waiting for you to step away from Fade. Their tiny clawed hands scraped across the floor in anticipation, as their rotten tongues licked their yellow sharp teeth. You could see at least fifty of them around you. Turning your gaze away from them, you focused your attention on Fade's figure and tried to forget the terrifying creatures. Fade walked on, as if not noticing them in the slightest. The tiny colorful mushrooms highlighted her movement and caused her cloak to shimmer in the process. She truly did look like the ruler of the forest.

You don't know how long you walked in the forest with the mushrooms lighting your path, but your feet were starting to grow tired. At the moment you really wanted to float in the air like Fade.

"We're almost there. Do you see the light ahead?".

"Yeah" you stated, now noticing the light in the distance.

It was night, yet the light up ahead looked natural and reminded you of a sunset. However, the sun had set over three hours ago. Maybe it was like the weird sun-moonlight that was back at the castle. Though, you were quite eager to get out of the forest. Thus you increased your pace. You could hear Fade laughing lightly behind you.

"Eager to leave the forest, ____?".

Nodding, you continued to head for the exit. The mushrooms' light died down, as the natural light took its place. Nearing the light, you saw that it was coming through a hole in a wall. Reaching the hole, you noticed that the wall went on for miles, stretching on into the unknown.

"That wall has stood since the beginning of this world. It helps prevent people from entering the forest, since there is only one entrance in the wall. Only those who must travel through the forest should enter its domain" she stated as if remembering something from long past.

"I'm assuming that someone you knew died?".

"Thankfully no, but many have died in my domain due to their foolishness. When there used to be more people in this world, people would dare others to enter. Those that entered rarely came back out. I aided some, but most who saw me claimed me to be a force of evil and ran away to meet death".

Fade went through the hole onto the other side, with you following after her. On the other side lay an abandoned train station. At the moment the train was absent from the station. The sun was indeed setting in the area, as though it followed a different time schedule from the forest just on the other side of the wall. Green plants grew in abundance around and in the train station. Most of the station was covered in dirt and moss. Furthermore, broken glass rested on the ground of the station while windows were shattered completely. Flocks of birds flew overhead, heading for the setting sun, as if they feared the train station.

The two of you stood next to the tracks, waiting for the train to arrive. However, you couldn't help but wonder if a train even existed due to the condition of the station. Soon you found yourself examining the station for two familiar people. They stated that they would meet you here.

'Wait, were you worried? No you couldn't be, you were just curious as to where they were' you thought to yourself.

However, soon two forms emerged in the distance. Familiar heads of blue and red hair came walking down the stone pathway. Both brothers had their elaborate attire back on them. Heart still had bandages wrapped around his face, but he didn't look quite as pale as he did yesterday. Though, when the two brothers neared you smiles did not grace their faces. Instead both seemed to be narrowing their eyes at Fade.

"So these are the two that you saved from eternal torture. I was hoping that it wouldn't be them. ____, I pity you. I take it you're their new plaything".

"Yeah, so you know them then".

"Yes, they sent their last plaything into my forest. She nearly died. I had to tend to some of her wounds for the brothers didn't know how to mend them. I'm surprised you agreed to save them".

"No one deserves a fate of eternal torment".

"That's a fair point, but haven't you condemned yourself to such a fate by saving them".

"I guess I have" you said laughing at your own foolishness for not noticing this before.

Fade shook her head a little before giving you a light smile.

"What are you doing here child?" Heart questioned, having reached the two of you.

"She's here to help me in the Land of Amusement" you said, not giving Fade a chance to answer.

"Miss ____, that's our job. Surely, you don't require her aid".

"I intend to make sure she doesn't fail in the task ahead of her. If she does, I will finish it for her".

Diamond glared at Fade while Heart walked over to you, examining your injured arm. You winced slightly, as he held your arm up. However, you pulled your arm away.

"My dear lady, how did you receive such a wound?".

"I tried to kill her. However, I have decided that she doesn't need to die" Fade stated, before you could reply.

The two brothers glared at her and she glared back. Soon two sabers were at her neck, but she showed no fear in her eyes. Before the brothers could attack, you stepped in front of Fade.

"She's here to help, just accept it. Besides she may have tried to kill me, but she also saved my life. If it weren't for her I never would've made it out of the forest with as little injuries as I have".

At that moment a train came into the station, appearing on the rusted and mossy tracks. Its windows were smeared with dirt and grime. However, the red and yellow paint on the train shone brightly under the dirt covering its surface. The headlights were turned off while thick greenery grew out of the entrance door.

"Let's just get on the train" you said, glancing between the two brothers.

Lowering the sabers, the brothers put the weapons back in their sheaths.

"Fine, we'll accept her aid. However Miss ____, if you hadn't left us this morning, we could've guided you through the forest safely".

"If I stayed, you two would've tried to keep me from going".

"Brother, it seems like she had figured out our plan without our knowing" Heart said.

"Indeed, well like you said let us board the train" Diamond stated.

Sighing in relief, you followed Fade onto the train. The brothers glanced at each other; the last thing they wanted was to have another protect you.
